Tigers Finish Runner-Up at Regionals, Advance to 6A State Championship
The Norman High School Tigers are headed back to the biggest stage.
Competing at the 6A West Regional at Earlywine Golf Club North on April 27, the Tigers battled through a challenging two-day tournament to secure a runner-up finish—earning their place in the 6A State Championship.
After a sluggish opening round that saw the team struggle on the greens, Norman responded with composure and grit.
The Tigers delivered the lowest second-round score in the entire field (302), showcasing their ability to adjust, reset, and compete at a high level when it mattered most.
Leading the charge individually:
Benson Diehm — 80-73 (153), 8th
Maverick Beeson — 81-74 (155), T-11th
Grant Maher — 78-77 (155), T-11th
Owen Malone — 77-78 (155), T-11th
Carter Cook — 84-80 (164), T-33rd
With momentum on their side, the Tigers now turn their focus to the 6A State Championship, set for May 11–12 at Hillcrest Country Club.
Before heading to Bartlesville, Norman will host The Shootout at Earlywine (South) on Saturday, May 2. It's a 36-hole event featuring the top eight programs from across the state.
