Spring Break Momentum: NHS Men’s Golf Prepares for a Championship Season

Spring break served as a critical stretch of preparation for the Norman High School men’s golf team, combining competition, training, and program-wide initiatives.

The week began with the team’s annual 100-Hole Marathon at Cobblestone Golf Course, a demanding fundraiser that tests endurance while supporting the program’s needs throughout the season.

Players then contributed to the setup and operation of the Robert O. Tournament at Westwood Golf Course, continuing a longstanding tradition in the Norman golf community before competing in the event.

The team continued its preparation with an overnight trip, playing 18-hole rounds each day to gain competitive reps and evaluate course management under tournament conditions.

Upon returning, players trained at The Golf Academy in Edmond, focusing on technical refinement and consistency.

The week concluded with the I-35 Clash scrimmage against Edmond North, providing a final competitive benchmark ahead of the spring schedule.

Each element of the week reflected a deliberate approach to preparation, as the team continues to build toward its season goals: competing for a state championship, earning back-to-back state academic honors, and contending on the national stage.
