NHS Golf Launches Spring Season with Annual Etiquette Dinner

Updated: 5 days ago

The Norman High School men’s and women’s golf programs formally opened the spring season with their annual Etiquette & Protocol Dinner, a tradition that emphasizes leadership, preparation, and championship standards.

The dinner was held at Benvenuti’s, Norman’s renowned fine dining restaurant, where Executive Chef Anthony Compagni — a recipient of Best Chefs in America honors — prepared a special menu for the evening.

The event is led by Francene Monenerkit and her Missy Mitchell. Francene and Missy are distinguished Image & Etiquette coaches who've trained generations of college students in professional conduct, leadership, and etiquette. Their collegiate-level instruction reflects the standards NHS Golf instills in its student-athletes and reinforces the program’s belief that success extends beyond the course into academic, community, and professional life.

The annual dinner serves as the official kickoff to the spring campaign, where NHS Golf has established three primary team goals: winning the state championship, earning Academic State Champion honors for the second consecutive year, and competing for a national championship.

For the men’s team, senior Grant Maher served as host for the evening. Seniors Benson Diehm, Grant Maher, Tripp Adler, and Grayson May were recognized and toasted by fellow teammates in a moment that highlighted their leadership and impact on the program.

The annual Etiquette Dinner continues to reflect NHS Golf’s commitment to building disciplined, prepared, and well-rounded student-athletes who represent Norman High School with distinction.

NHS Golf extends its sincere appreciation to Benvenuti’s and Francene Monenerkit for an exceptional evening to begin the 2026 championship campaign.
