Annual Spring Break Robert O. Tournament

March 17, 2026

Each spring break, Norman hosts the annual Robert O. Tournament at Westwood Golf Course.

The event is a youth golf tournament for players in 7th grade and above, named in honor of Robert O. Smith, a prominent figure in the local golf community. A longtime PGA rules official, former head professional at the University of Oklahoma golf course, and trusted consultant to junior golfers across the state, Smith has made a lasting impact on the game both locally and nationally. The tournament honors his legacy.

Members of the Norman High School golf team not only compete in the event but also play an active role in helping set up and run the tournament, an opportunity they take pride in as they give back to the game and community that support them.

This year’s results featured strong performances from local standouts.

Champions in the boys division were Norman High’s Grayson May (Sr.) led the field with a 70, followed by teammate Maverick Beeson (So.) with a 72.

Champions in the girls division were both Norman North High School Golf team members. Natalie Carlson posted a 76 to take the top spot, with teammate Marjorie Whitson finishing as runner-up with an 82.

Congratulations to this year’s field of golfers, and thank you to Robert O. Smith for his lasting impact on the game.
